VHI Women’s Mini Marathon 2019

On June 2nd, the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon will take place in Dublin!

The VHI Women’s Mini Marathon, an annual 10k charity road race, occurs each June bank holiday weekend in Dublin and is the largest Women’s event of its kind in the world!

Marathon Since 1983

The VHI Women’s Marathon has become a phenomenon since its beginning in 1983, with the inaugural event having 9,000 female participants. The event reached its recorded attendance in 2014 with 41,006 women taking part. With the ever growing interest in health and fitness among women the event has seen an astonishing 1 million women enter the event in its 36 years. Women of every age and walk of life take part. While the majority would be in the 25 to 45 age brackets, in the 2018 race there were over 370 participants over 70 years of age!

The charities the women choose to represent also win big with many local charities receiving large amounts of funds from the event, with it now becoming the largest one day charity event in Ireland. An estimated €210m euro has been raised for charity since its beginning in 1983

Entries open on the 28th of February, to sign up visit www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie or entry forms will be available in The Herald in March.
